Dear Colleagues,
The Korean Society of Clothing and textiles (KSCT) is pleased to invite you to the 2022 International Conference on Clothing and Textiles (ICCT) to be held from May 26, 2022 to May 28, 2022 at Korea University, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The KSCT is the largest educational and scientific organization for the field of fashion and textiles in Korea, and its primary goal is to advance research and education for academicians and industry practitioners in this field. The KSCT held the ICCT successfully in 2018 and 2020, and again calls for abstracts for oral and poster presentations and graduate students’ research competition. This year, two joint symposia will be held as a part of the conference, with Hong Kong Polytechnic University and with Japan Research Association for Textile End-Uses.
The conference feature research addressing the annual theme of “Fluidity and Flexibility: The Future Realms of Fashion and Textiles.” As we gradually move out of COVID that hit hard on fashion, we welcome expansive areas of studies in dress, fashion, and textiles that consider fashion practices to come in the post-COVID times. While conventional fashion system had long to stay, we have witnessed the growth of ‘digitized’ space–the convergence of physical and virtual sites, potential role of Augmented Reality in fashion, and emergence of new self-identity. The advent of Artificial Intelligence, material innovation, experimental practices for sustainability, as well as rising voices for social justice and equality will all be significant players in transforming the landscape of future fashion.
